oops...forgot

So for this entire year I've been pumping breastmilk. If it makes you uncomfortable to read about it, you're reading the wrong blog. Anyway, I've been pumping. The milk flowed like crazy for the first 5 1/2 months while the babies would stil nurse, but once they decided they only like bottles and refused to nurse, the milk production steadily declined. Being the dedicated breastmilk provider that I am, I have perservered in providing it for them. Until the past week. I don't know what happened, something in me switched off or something like that. Okay, part of it is my fault since I was only pumping 3 times a day for the past couple of months and then I decided that I'm so tired all the time that maybe twice a day is okay. So I dropped to morning and night. But it all fell apart last Saturday when I went the entire day and PLUM FORGOT to pump! Woke up, worked out, did jobs around the house, etc., and even went swimming with the fam that afternoon. I even noticed that my breasts felt full when I put on my swimsuit around 5p.m. and it didn't even dawn on me then that I had forgotten to pump that morning! At about 8 p.m. it occured to me that I didn't remember pumping that morning. So I asked Dave if he'd seen any of my milk in the fridge. Nope. I felt like such a slacker! How could I completely forget like that? As if I hadn't been pumping multiple times a day for the past 10 months! As if I didn't have three babies crawling all around me all day to remind me that they need milk! As if I wasn't getting engorged from going almost 24 hours without pumping! Well, now I have proof that my brain is turning to mush.
